Condition Reports

We suggest making an appointment to examine items in person before you bid. Otherwise, our specialists are happy to provide you a detailed condition report.

While we have taken care to accurately describe all lots, we do not warrant the correctness of description, attribution, authenticity or condition, and we hold no responsibility for any error or omission. All items are sold as-is.

Buyer's Premium + Taxes

A buyer’s premium will be added to the hammer price of each lot, to be paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The buyer’s premium is 30 percent of the final bid price up to and including $500,000, and 10 percent of the final bid price over $500,000.

When applicable, state and local sales taxes will be added to the hammer price and buyer’s premium.

To submit your sales tax exemption or resale number with us, please call (508) 385-3116 to speak with our accounting department.

FAQs

What’s an absentee bid? Give us the maximum you are willing to pay and we’ll bid on your behalf up to that amount. Absentee bids are also sometimes called “commission” or “order” bids. You may place an absentee bid by filling out an Absentee Bid Form and submitting it to our office.

Can I bid on the phone? Yes! To request a phone bid, please contact our offices at least 24 hours before the auction. On the day of the auction, a member of our staff will call you and relay bids between you and the auctioneer.

What are the “Conditions of Sale”? The terms under which we sell at auction. Please carefully review the Terms & Conditions of Sale prior to bidding.

How much do things sell for? Each lot is given a low and high estimate, representing the range in which we anticipate it selling for in an auction (formatted low/high … $500/1,000). Sometimes things sell for more, sometimes less. That’s part of the fun of auctions!
